They built it up, had an issue with a dev, gutted that portion, built up again, had a lore/race issue, gutted all that, and tried to build up again. Those of us who were there from the start know that is exactly what happened.

At least with Terraria you could outfit yourself with full Molten or Jungle if you work hard enough (admittedly 1.4 really tries to nerf getting to Molten early now). I miss the tentacle worlds and being able to jump ahead to get better stuff before they gatekeeped everything behind forced boss fights.
